Nomenclature of Resistance
2024-03-05
According to the ministerial standard (SJ-73), the naming of resistors and potentiometers consists of the following four parts: the first part (main name); Part II: (material); Part III (classification characteristics); Part IV (serial number). Their models and meanings are shown in the table below.
Five Applications of Resistors
In the electronic circuit design is often used in a component is the resistor, we all know that the resistor in the circuit plays the role of voltage limiting. However, in actual use, a special resistor will be used: zero ohm resistor, hence the name. The resistance value of zero ohm resistor is zero. For beginners may have a question: since the resistance is zero, what is the difference with a wire? Why not directly connected? In fact, there is a difference between zero ohm resistance and direct wire connection, and there are many clever uses of zero ohm resistance in circuit design.
The main performance indicators of resistance
Under the specified ambient temperature and humidity, assuming that the surrounding air is not circulating, the maximum power allowed to be dissipated on the resistor under long-term continuous load without damage or substantial change in performance. In order to ensure safe use, the rated power is generally 1-2 times higher than the power consumed in the circuit. Rated power is divided into 19 grades, commonly used are 0.05W, 0.125W, 0.25W, 0.5W, 1W, 2W, 3W, 5W, 7W, 10W.
What is the use of resistance
2024-03-13
Divider voltage is to divide the required voltage through series resistors, and the size is distributed in proportion to the size of the resistors. A plurality of electrical appliances with different rated currents can be connected to the trunk of the circuit at the same time, and a part of the voltage is shared by the voltage division of the series resistor to ensure that the voltage of the electrical device does not exceed the rated voltage.
Several Common Resistance Detection Methods
Detection of fixed resistor The actual resistance value can be measured by connecting two test pens (both positive and negative) with the pins at both ends of the resistor respectively. In order to improve the measurement accuracy, the range should be selected according to the nominal value of the measured resistance. Due to the non-linear relationship of the ohm block scale, the middle section of the scale is finer. Therefore, the pointer indication value should fall to the middle section of the scale as much as possible, I .e. within the range of 20% ~ 80% radian of the start of the full scale, so as to make the measurement more accurate. Depending on the resistance error level. An error of ± 5%, ± 10% or ± 20% is allowed between the reading and the nominal resistance. If it does not match and exceeds the error range, it means that the resistance value has changed. B Note: When testing, especially when measuring resistances with resistance values above tens of kΩ, do not touch the conductive parts of the stylus and resistor with your hands; The detected resistor should be welded from the circuit, and at least one head should be welded to prevent other components in the circuit from affecting the test and causing measurement errors. Although the resistance value of the color ring resistor can be determined by the color ring mark, but in use, it is best to use a multimeter to test its actual resistance.
